Hazards in an office
Most of the following common office hazards are listed in the OHS review form. I've listed a few of them below as examples.
Electrical Power:
- Plugs, sockets and switches in good order
- Free of frayed or defective leads
- Free of double adapters/piggy back plugs
- All lights adequate and operational
- Residual Current Devices installed and maintained
Equipment:
- Office chairs suitable and in good condition
- Good sitting position, feet on floor, and forearms approximately level
- Screen below eye level
- Ladders serviceable, no broken rungs/defects
- Metal ladders not used for electrical work
- Current OH & S policies and procedures displayed on notice boards.
- Safety signs clearly displayed where necessary
- Kitchen appliances properly maintained.
