Task 1
The student will be given copies of:
- Acts, regulations and codes of practice from all levels of government that impact on business operations, especially with regard to WHS and environmental issues, equal opportunity, industrial relations and anti-discrimination. These will be given as information sheets.
- An organisation’s WHS policies, procedures, work instruction, programs and legislative requirements. These will cover:
- the legal duties, powers, rights, obligations and responsibilities of individuals and parties inside and outside the workplace.
- hazard management, fire, emergencies, evacuation, incident investigation and reporting, standard operating procedures, codes of practice, licensing requirements and standards.
Your task: Based on your reading of these documents, make a list of briefing notes that is good enough to clearly explain to a small work team their OHS obligations.
Task 2
The student will be given a copy of their organization's incident report form and of its hazard identification form.
- You will be asked to report an incident based on a video of an incident.
- You will also be asked to inspect a workplace and fill in a hazard report.
Forms must be filled out accurately and legibly enough to satisfy an OHS auditor and incident investigator.
