Graduation procedure
- The head of department may be notified that a student has prima facie met all requirements for graduation in any of the following ways:
- A faculty member
- The student
- An automated process in the software.
- If the catalog specifies that students must be of a suitable character, the head of department:
- shall gather at least three references from suitable sources.
- convene a meeting of at least three faculty to assess the student's good character, and suitability for the role according to their degree.
- If the assessment outcome is unclear, it may elicit further information from faculty, local mentors, and/or referees, and make a further assessment.
- When all three members of the graduation meeting agree on an assessment outcome, it shall document its findings.
- If the student has not met the requirements for graduation, it shall record the specific deficiencies is such manner that can be used in cases of formal complaints or litigation.
- If the student has met all requirements for graduation, the Head of Department shall:
- authorize conferral of the degree.
- inform the student of the assessment outcome and, if applicable, the arrangements for graduation.
