Honorary degrees

1. WU awards honorary doctoral degrees to recognize persons who have made outstanding contributions in academic or community service.
   1. Doctor of Divinity (Honaris causa) may be awarded for theological teaching and research or for Christian service.
   2. Doctor of the University (Christian Letters) (Honaris causa) may be awarded for teaching and research in fields that are relevant to Christian ministry but are not specifically theological, or for service in those fields.
2. The WU Board accepts nominations only from WU Board members and senior faculty.
