501c3 statements
These statements were made in WU 501c3 application.
- As a university, Worldwide University accepts contributions of intellectual property in the form of academic writings and administrative systems, primarily referring to staff. These contributions may take the forms of either ownership or licenses to use of intellectual property.
- The University shall also own own any intellectual property created in student collaborative projects unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
- Worldwide University in entitled to apply for grants from charitable organizations. Grant applications will be made on a case-by-case basis, usually involving a written proposal that addresses the specific criteria for the awarding of the grant.
- Worldwide University is entitled to apply for grants in any U.S. jurisdiction where it is permissible to apply for grants.
- Worldwide University does its own fundraising, and does not not fundraise for any other organization, and no other organization will fundraise for Worldwide University.
- Worldwide University accepts intellectual property, usually in the form of copyright when dealing with educational and research documents that align with its purposes and that are produced under its auspices.
- As an online institution, Worldwide University may offer its programs to students in other countries.
- WU does not anticipate establishing branch campuses in those countries, but anticipates meeting personally with students and holding seminars. This furthers the University’s 501C3 exempt purposes in that it offers higher education programs, including to students of minimal financial means. Those educational programs may include:
- Degree programs as published in its catalog at the time.
- Educational support for those degree programs (e.g. academic writing, supplementary education, social media support, remedial programs).
