Preamble
These policies were approved by the Board on May 7, 2020, with additions made on March 24, 2023.
They apply to three classifications of personnel:
- Executive officers: Persons in senior management positions who are not faculty
- Faculty: Teaching or academic staff who provide education to students
- Staff: Those persons who work for the institution that are neither executive offers nor faculty.
They have several purposes:
- They orient new personnel to WU policies relevant to their role.
- For existing personnel, it serves as the handbook of current policies relevant to their role.
- Some policies put strategies in place for preventing or responding to foreseeable problems.
In some cases, policies are integrated with procedures.
This directory of policies does not replace or duplicate items published in the Catalog, website, or orientation notes. It is also separate from the Board Policies Manual. The policies for students are published in the catalog, and some of these policies simply complement the catalog. If they are in conflict, the current published catalog has precedence.
Unless clarified otherwise in context, WU refers to Worldwide University.
These policies have been revised to address DEAC requirements. They are designed for contexts where local representations have some autonomy. Most policies are written for a purely secular audience, although all of them come from Christian organizations. None of them was originally written for a primarily online institution.
These policies are put in an order that is intended to make them easier to compare. To view them according to their source click here.
