Modular units

With thanks to John Clapton, YouthCARE

Modular units are small, self-contained programs of teaching and assessment. They often comprise relatively short periods of contact time, and may involve the production of some written assessment material as a result of research or reporting on practice. Some modular units don't require written assessment. When a subject has been modularized, it might be offered more easily by extension.

Note: The terminology could cause confusion with the training sector meanings of Module and Unit of Competency.
