Your present systems for measuring performance
Your organization probably already has systems for measuring performance. Some community organizations ask only:
- Are we following our purposes?
- Are we financially viable?
- Do board members think the program is effective?
- Do staff members think the program is effective?
- Do clients think the program is effective?
That is not usually good enough for a modern organization. At the very least, they also need to look at:
- Key financial ratios
- Risks
- Market position
- The number of clients and their satisfaction
- The views of other stakeholders
- Staff skills
- Organizational capacity
