Mrs K. Woffledum
243 Fishmonger Lane
London

Dear Mrs Woffledum,
It is with great regret that it is my duty to follow the instructions of our client Mr. Widebottom, to inform you that your rental payments are in such a desperate state of affairs that there is no option but to require that you vacate the property within a period of fourteen days. It is an additional difficulty that the City Council has lodged a formal complaint that it is improper and unsanitary to attempt to house six children in such a confined space.

As of the time of writing, the only remedy that is available to you under the Residential Tenancies London Act (1893) is to pay the outstanding debt in full and make and full payment in advance for the next two months, and tender to the said amount to this office within seven days.

I remain,
Yours faithfully,

I. Scrooge
