Working with people in the target population

Okay, so now you get down to the grass roots. You have to help real people out there.

You have probably already started on this, and might find that working with people to be the most exciting, most profitable (and most stressful) part of the entire project.

A lot of this is making a network of friends at grass roots level. If you are doing this right, you will probably be going through a few major changes yourself. You'll learn from people who are different from you and learn to care about them. Adjusting to a new worldview will probably challenge how you think and make you re-assess your personal values.
