Review similar programs
At this stage, you'll need to find out what others are doing that will shed light on what you are planning to do. Keep good notes, as the results of your review will be important in your planning.
First, do an Internet search and see if it produces anything helpful. The recommended websites are perhaps the bests places to start. Compile a list of the relevant "lessons learned" from everywhere else.
Second, check with your network of professionals doing similar kinds of work to you. They may tell you:
- what they are doing,
- what worked and what didn't,
- latest developments in this kind of work,
- relevant internet sites,
- other people and organizations that may be able to advise you.
In my experience, networking is more likely to get you good advice for your specific situation than the Internet, even though the Internet has some very good information on it.
Evaluate similar programs in light of your context. What lessons are relevant for your situation? What other possible approaches are there? You might need to use a case study approach to assess other people's experience.
