Preliminary proposal
Most organizations need some kind of written statement that says exactly what it wants to do and why, so the leadership can make a decision whther or not to proceed. It is quite likely that you will also need to give an oral presentation. The proposal can be fairly brief, but the point is to say clearly and succinctly what you plan to do so they can give approval before you start doing very detailed background research and planning.
The proposal needs to answer the basic questions:
- Who are they?
- Where do they live?
- What do they do for a living?
- What is the need you want to address?
- Why makes it important? Why should it be given priority?
- What could you do to help them?
- Is it feasible?
