Job description: Diploma intern in childcare

- Participate in team meetings, and lead when asked
- Do applied field research of program aspects that will improve the program
- Supervise unstructured play
- Identify the range of structured activities that need to be offered and plan, lead, and review them. They should enhance the following aspects of children's development:
- Physical
- Social
- Emotional and psychological
- Cognitive
- Language and communication
- Music, aesthetic and creative
- Ethical
- Follow supervision requirements
- Keep children happy and safe
- Manage any challenging behavior
- Handle any incidents, including non-routine cases
- Do any incident reports as needed
- Identify non-normal behaviors and respond appropriately (signs of giftedness, abuse, abnormal development, etc.)
- Liaise with parents and carers as necessary
- You may be asked either to supervise junior workers on rotating tasks or do them yourself:
- Open up in the morning
- Close up at the end of the day
- Look after the font desk
- Oversee the babies' room
- Do food preparation
- Oversee lunch or snacks:
- Ensure hygiene and good diet
- Oversee serving, eating, and cleaning away.
